When can you make claim taxi accident compensation?

If you were a passenger in a taxi or mini-cab and the driver, or another road user, was to blame then you may have a personal injury claim.  This includes journeys with Uber.

If the accident was due to the negligent driving of the taxi driver, the claim would be against them or the taxi firm.  They will have public liability insurance as they’re classed as public hire vehicles.

But if the driver of another vehicle was responsible for a collision, for example, then the claim would be made against that driver’s insurance.

It will help if you have made a note of the taxi firm and the driver name and number.

How to make a claim

How can First4Lawyers help?

Our road traffic accident (RTA) solicitors have many years’ experience in making claims of this type.  They will put together a case to help you achieve maximum compensation.  We may also offer a No Win No Fee* service, so you don’t have to pay any upfront costs.

Only pay a fee if you receive compensation

Where we offer No Win No Fee services typically customers pay 25% of the amount recovered by our solicitors, although this will be subject to your individual circumstances and the actual fee may be less than this but it will never be more. Success fees are common practice and they were introduced when the law changed in April 2013.

First4Lawyers are an award winning claims management company with a track record of delivering service that our clients love.

How much compensation will I receive for a taxi accident claim?

Compensation depends on a number of factors:

  • The extent of your injuries
  • The pain and suffering you have endured
  • Financial losses or costs that you’ve incurred as a result of your injuries.

Our compensation calculator gives an idea of the amounts you could be awarded, but a chat with our legal advisors will give you advice tailored to your individual circumstances.

Is there a time limit for making a claim?

There is usually a three-year period, from the date of the accident.

I think I have a claim, what do I do next?

You will need to seek medical attention for treatment so that your injuries are noted in your medical records.

Then just get in touch with us for a free consultation.  We’ll ask you about your situation and advise you of your options.
