Football is massively popular and it’s one of those games where you expect the odd injury. But if you’re injured due to the negligence of someone else, you could have a claim.

Can I claim compensation for a football injury?

If you’ve been injured because of dangerous or aggressive behaviour on or off the pitch, you could claim compensation. Equally, if the pitch, equipment or training methods cause you injury you may be able to claim.

Examples include:

  • Violent or reckless tackles
  • Physical assault
  • Poorly kept pitches or equipment
  • Bad training advice or methods

When can you make a football injury claim?

You would need to be able to prove your injury was the result of someone else’s behaviour. Having medical statements and witnesses to back you up is also very helpful, but we can help with that.

Common injuries that cause longer term pain and suffering include:

  • Fractures or broken bones
  • Ligament damage
  • Broken noses or teeth
  • Head injury
  • Dislocations

How can First4Lawyers help?

Our legally trained advisors will have an initial chat with you for free to establish what happened and whether you’re likely to have a successful claim.

More about making a claim

If you choose to proceed with a claim, we will put you in touch with an experienced solicitor, who will identify how you’ve been affected by the injuries so they can build a case, guiding you through the whole process from start to finish. They will also explain No Win No Fee*, which allows you to make a claim with no upfront cost.

About No Win No Fee

Only pay a fee if you receive compensation

Where we offer No Win No Fee services typically customers pay 25% of the amount recovered by our solicitors, although this will be subject to your individual circumstances and the actual fee may be less than this but it will never be more. Success fees are common practice and they were introduced when the law changed in April 2013.

How much compensation will I receive for a football injury claim?

That very much depends on your injury and how severe it is. Our compensation calculator gives an idea of the amounts you could be awarded, but a chat with our legal advisors will give you information tailored to your individual circumstances.

Is there a time limit for making a claim?

There is usually a three-year period, from the date the injury occurred.

I think I have a claim – what do I do next?

The most important thing is to get in touch so we can assess your individual circumstances and whether you have a viable case and take you through the options available to you.
